On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October, an Open Chinese Language Course was held at the Language Center by the instructor Ms. Shiheng Zhu with the aim of informing interested undergraduate students about the Chinese language course. Ms. Zhu spoke both on issues related to the language such as symbols and pronunciation as well as on issues related to Chinese culture.
Ms Wenjia Zhang and Chinese 1 students organized a Food and Culture Exchange event at the Language Centre. They made dumplings together and talked about the festival traditions in China and Greece.
Mrs Wenjia Zhang introduced the tea culture and tradition in the Chinese class. Students enjoyed the full leaves of traditional Chinese tea and learned the tea ceremony. Tea culture is called ChaDao or the art of drinking tea in China. It has held great cultural significance in China for over a thousand years.
Students of the "Chinese 3" class participated in a Chinese cooking workshop with Mrs Wenjia Zhang. During the workshop, they prepared dumblings and learned Chinese table manners.
