The Language Centre of the Technical University of Crete
The Language Centre of the Technical University of Crete supports enrolled students in English, German and Chinese language courses as well as those who generally want to improve their language skills in these languages. Greek language courses are also offered to Erasmus students.
At the Language Center we consider the language of a people as an expression of its thought, history, mentality, and identity. Thus, learning a language for us is not a simple translation from one language to another, but an acquaintance with the culture of the people who created it.
Our goal is to make students aware of their learning process, to encourage self-assessment and the independent use of language learning strategies, always with the contribution and support of the staff of the Language Center. The purpose of the Language Center is for students to be able to use foreign languages in their professional life as engineers. The removal of any possible obstacle to communication between people is a condition for dialogue, cooperation and ultimately progress in all aspects of culture.
